Over 20 years ago the Directors decided that environmental issues would be a key objective within the business and were keen to ensure that any negative impact from their systems and processes on the workforce, their health and of course the local environment were reduced to an absolute minimum. Eurotek are committed to the following:
· To monitor and continuously improve the company’s quality and environmental performance by the setting of objectives and targets and the minimisation of pollution.
· To design and source materials and components to minimise the environmental effects of products in production and during their usage and final disposal.
· Maintain the FSC and PEFC chain of custody for our ranges of wood based products.
· To minimise the use of all materials, supplies and energy and to examine waste streams for re-use and recycling potential.
· To continue to improve our sustainability programme of work, including purchasing/sourcing, manufacturing, distribution network, waste streams and end of life management.
· Our environmental management system incorporating BS EN ISO 9001 and 14001 Regulations is mandatory to all employees.
· Our policies are fully communicated to all levels of the company, supported by management and are achievable. When implemented they become an integral part of our daily business life and continue to be actively measured, monitored and constantly targeted for improvement.
· Eurotek Office Furniture were the first manufacturers to be awarded the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP), by FIRA by demonstrating sustainability as a strategic business initiative

Communication
Involving all employees in our sustainability plans is critical to our ongoing success and this starts from the first day of employment. Induction programmes incorporate environmental training and this is continued with localised training, signage, company work instructions, risk assessments, works committee meetings and all company literature, to keep everyone informed.
All visitors to site receive a welcome pack containing environmental information and customers are constantly informed through presentations, tender proposals, factory tours and comprehensive updates, provided in hard copy or electronically.
Employees, customers, suppliers and the community at large have comprehensive, easily accessible information available through our web site and this is further supported by our complete environmental portfolio (‘Our culture, your environment’) which details our entire culture, our achievements and environmental impacts. This includes a corporate brochure, product sheets, exhibition media, presentations and additional web pages.
Eurotek Office Furniture has an environmental culture from the ground up, ingrained in our systems, procedures and workforce.
